Join us for our local observance of National Health Center Week on Tuesday, August 11, at the City Hall Rotunda, 601 Lakeside Ave. East, Cleveland, OH. Check in for this free event starting at 11 a.m.; program and luncheon begin at 11:30 a.m. This year’s theme, Celebrating Our Legacy, Shaping Our Future, will zoom in on the successes and achievements of Cleveland’s health centers and, as Medicaid turns 50 this July, examine the impact this program has made on health care, particularly locally. Keynote speaker Randall D. Cebu, MD, FACP, will lead this dialogue. Registration is free, but seating is limited. Please make your reservations now at http://clenhcw15.eventbrite.com.
Each year for more than 30 years, the second week of August has been designated as National Health Center Week. This luncheon event is part of this national campaign that recognizes the services and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers. While there are countless reasons to celebrate America’s Health Centers, among the most important and unique is their long success in providing access to affordable, high quality, cost effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people throughout the United States.
